Good article. In a workplace environment or geopolitical theater, your options may be varied at the start. In a scholastic environment, I’ve found that the only way to get people to stop bullying/harassing/physically-attacking is to fight back since they tend to pick out people who won’t appear to lift a finger at first glance. Getting suspended for landing a few blows is worth trading for years of psychological torment. There’s a reason people tend not to touch a hot stove when it’s burning.
