Even if the advertisements aren’t specifically political, the ads which push the envelope are still the best. I wish ones like Ridley Scott’s 1984 commercial that introduced the Apple computer were still made today. Even Larry Bird vs. Michael Jordan in a game of H-O-R-S-E (1993) is something the average sports fan from any political stripe can enjoy. The ‘Terry Tate’ Office Linebacker series from 2003 is another one that comes to mind. Taking characters (fictional or real) and putting them in ridiculous scenarios — or even a pastiche — feels like being a good choice 99% of the time.
