A lot of criticism comes around superhero films and even more criticism comes towards directors who did small movies that are now getting the chance to make a big movie.

We can criticize all we want but the amount of contacts/relationships that can be forged in the most powerful studio brand on Earth is invaluable to anybody looking to forward their career.

Some directors will do big-budget-superhero movies and some won't. There will always be indie-filmmakers for every generation.
